A Guide to Nikko Strawberry Park

About Nikko Strawberry Park

Nikko Strawberry Park is one of the few places in Nikko that grows strawberries. Opened 12 years ago as Nikko’s first sightseeing farm, we not only offer strawberry picking (all-you-can-eat), but also sell strawberries at our shop, direct from our greenhouses. In addition to fresh strawberries, we carry a wide range of items including jam and other processed goods, and popular products exclusive to Tochigi prefecture. We hope to see you soon!

Strawberry Picking

Strawberry picking in our greenhouse for in-ground cultivation. Visitors can crouch down to pick the strawberries.

Our strawberries are cultivated using about half the standard amount of chemical fertilizers and agricultural chemicals for Tochigi prefecture. We have received the “Link-T” certification from Tochigi prefecture and were the first strawberry farm in Tochigi to receive this certification.

*Strawberry picking is held in two types of greenhouses. There are also multiple varieties of strawberries. We assign visitors to their greenhouse on the day of, based on the state of the strawberries at that time. Therefore, we cannot accommodate any requests in advance regarding preferences for greenhouses and strawberry varieties. Visitors using wheelchairs or strollers will be preferentially assigned to the wheelchair- and stroller-accessible greenhouse, and therefore, should let us know in advance. (Reservation required.)

Link-T

Nikko Strawberry Park is one of the few places in Nikko that grows strawberries. The Imaichi region of Nikko is situated at the foot of Nikko’s mountains. The summers are cool and the winters are frigid. The winter’s cold and the pristine water that flows from the mountains nurture strawberries that boast a wonderful balance of sweetness and tartness.

We are committed to reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and cultivating our strawberries using organic fertilizers. Our strawberries, which are grown in the rich natural environment of Nikko, are deliciously sweet with just the right amount of tartness. Because we practice cultivation with reduced agricultural chemicals, our strawberries can be safely enjoyed.

We hope you enjoy tasting our strawberries.
